Week 1: January 1st-January 7th

Week 1 of project life. I was able to get done all of the layouts for the month of January in a few hours one night. I was amazed how quickly everything came together! So far lovin' project life!!

I finally started putting together our Project Life album a few weeks ago so here's the cover page for our album.

Memory Works February Express Kit

This month I received the Carefree kit from Memory Works. If you click here, you can see all of the fun goodies that come inside the kit. Here's a layout of Katie at 3 months old. I used a sketch from Sketch Savvy too.

These are some of the cards I make using the kit. I used the "me and you" card to give to Ryan for Valentine's Day.

In the kit, there is a mini album-Maya Roads wavy layer book. I'm not a great mini-album maker so I kept thinking about what I could make that I would actually use to. I came up with the idea to create a book for Katie to look at with all of the people in our family so she can learn our names with the pictures. The book is chipboard so it is a kraft color and I did use acrylic paint to give the pages some extra color.

Valentine's Day projects

I think I had a total of 2 Valentine decorations so I decided to make a few new ones this year. I made this pillow and used scraps from the Valentine's Day banner I made last year. Here's the tutorial for this fun pillow.

And then I made this wreath for the front door from a tutorial found here.
I love having a few new decorations up around the house!!

First blog post

2012 TeamWorks Team!!

In October, I signed up as a Memory Works consultant to buy some supplies for our scrapbooking retreat. Shortly after, they put out a call to apply for the 2012 TeamWorks team. I applied, the last day, not thinking much about it, until I saw this post. Yes, my name was misspelled so I was hoping it was still me, but trying not to get my hopes up too much. How many other Caroline/Carolyn Piercy Memory Works consultants could there be? Well I got an email the next day welcoming me to the team. So yes, it is me and I am so excited to be working with Memory Works. They carry many of my favorite manufacturers like: Crate, Cosmo Cricket, Lily Bee, MME, etc. and they have their own line called Simple Stories which is super cute!! Looking forward to the new year and working with some other great ladies!

Scrapbook Retreat

I was able to go on the scrapbook retreat this year. The two gals that have organized it in the past decided not to do one again so I decided to try and organize one myself. 5 of us went up to Leavenworth and stayed and the Sleeping Lady and scrapped and ate lots of yummy food. It was such a needed vacation/break for me and I loved being able to scrapbook after having all of my stuff packed up for soooo long. It felt good to get back into the groove of scrappin' and it's always fun to have girl time too!!
