2012 TeamWorks Team!!

In October, I signed up as a Memory Works consultant to buy some supplies for our scrapbooking retreat. Shortly after, they put out a call to apply for the 2012 TeamWorks team. I applied, the last day, not thinking much about it, until I saw this post. Yes, my name was misspelled so I was hoping it was still me, but trying not to get my hopes up too much. How many other Caroline/Carolyn Piercy Memory Works consultants could there be? Well I got an email the next day welcoming me to the team. So yes, it is me and I am so excited to be working with Memory Works. They carry many of my favorite manufacturers like: Crate, Cosmo Cricket, Lily Bee, MME, etc. and they have their own line called Simple Stories which is super cute!! Looking forward to the new year and working with some other great ladies!

Scrapbook Retreat

This one was actually from a few months ago, just forgot to post it. It was a scraplift challenge from the Memorable Seasons board.

Tyler as a soldier last Halloween.

The kids on one of their daily walks with Grandpa when he came to visit.

Our family last winter in Spokane.

Haley dressed up for Dr. Seuss Day at school.

Haley's first day of kindergarten!!

Our first time to do the MS Walk as a family. We walked and raised money for Ryan's sister, Liz

Emily as a new big sister to Katie.

I was able to go on the scrapbook retreat this year. The two gals that have organized it in the past decided not to do one again so I decided to try and organize one myself. 5 of us went up to Leavenworth and stayed and the Sleeping Lady and scrapped and ate lots of yummy food. It was such a needed vacation/break for me and I loved being able to scrapbook after having all of my stuff packed up for soooo long. It felt good to get back into the groove of scrappin' and it's always fun to have girl time too!!

Out with the old, in with the new!

Okay, these bibs are seriously OLD (that yellow one was from Tyler when he was a baby and he's almost 9!) I don't know why I didn't throw these away sooner!

And here are some new ones I just finished. About half are for Katie and the rest are for gifts. These look so much better and can't wait to throw the other ones out! I got the pattern from the Sew Mama Sew blog a few years ago.

National Scrapbook Day

This card was for Telah's challenge to use up any scraps of paper that you had used on any of your LO's you made this weekend. All of these printed papers came from that same sheet of Studio Calico paper. Love the way it turned out!

For Joni's hold it together challenge: use things that hold things together (buttons, stitching, zippers, clips) just like moms hold everything together. I used stitching and a clip on my journaling. Our garden tomatoes (summer of 07). I used the May 8th sketch from Your Scrapbook Stash.

This one was from Kristin's sketch challenge. The kiddos enjoying summer with some popsicles. This one was so easy to put together, it's actually just one sheet of Studio Calico paper, except for the banner!

This one was for Jenny's play challenge: scrap whatever you think of when you hear the word play. These pictures were from the same day at the park. The kids ran up and down the hill so many times, just pure kid fun. This one I used the May 7th sketch from Your Scrapbook Stash.

This one was for Tami's dirty challenge: interpret dirty anyway you want! So I went for Haley's dirty face. We had given the kids fudgesicles. It was sooo hot that they started to melt but they still wanted to eat them and none of us had thought to bring any wipes so they all just played with dirty faces. They made for some great pictures!! I also inked around the edges for some more "dirtiness." I used the May 6th sketch from Your Scrapbook Stash.

So I took advantage of last week's National Scrapbook Day (well, actually the weekend) to get some layouts done. I played along at the crop at Memorable Seasons and used some great sketches from Your Scrapbook Stash. Here's everythhing I got done!

Let's Scrap challenges

This is for my DT challenge this week. It's due tomorrow night if you still want to play along! The challenge is to create 3 different handmade flowers on your LO. I made a flower out of patterned paper circles, rolled flowers, and I sewed some lace together to create a flower. I have been wanting to try the rolled flowers for a long time so this was a push to actually do it!

This one was from Shelly's spring forward challenge which was to scraplift the LO that was uploaded right after your last upload. I used the same sketch, some twine on my picture and the title is similar to hers. I had made some salt dough for the kids. It obviously needed more flour but they didn't want to add more, they liked having sticky hands!

2 Layouts for 1 week

This week's sketch

My take on the sketch-Park Play-Haley at the park kinda (or not) playing! My friend Laurel took these pictures of her.
This is from last week-My Pizza makers-the kids helping me make some pizza for dinner!

Oops!! I just realized that I forgot to post my LO from last week's Let's Scrap sketch. So here's last week's and this week's sketch and LO!

Get Well Soon

Here's a card for this week's sketch up at Let's Scrap. I also combined it for this week's challenge at The Paper Variety, which was to make a get well soon card! I even pulled out a stamp for this one too!

It's about time

I did this one a couple of weeks ago called Love Snow. The sketch is from Sketch Inspiration (I actually ended up winning the prize for that week, super excited to get the Studio Calico Elementary line!!) and I used this one for Memorable Season's throwdown challenge as well. You had to use a mask (I used a large circle), either mist or paint splatters, white space, and doodling. I don't think I've ever used a mask, so this was a first for me!! Pictures are of Tyler and Haley playing in the snow in our backyard!

I used a sketch from My Mind's Eye blog and a theme "Celebrate Today". I also did this one for the Memorable Seasons throwdown challenge. The challenge was to use a solid color background, lots of RED, a diecut, and then a few other choices: circles, stitching, distressing, inking, and handwritten journaling. Pictures are of Ryan's 30th birthday. They aren't the best pictures but I still wanted to document the special day!!

I completed the color combo challenge that was posted on the Crate blog. The colors were kraft, grey, and yellow. I don't think I've ever used this color combo before but love how it turned out so I will definitely use it again! The pictures are of Tyler and his cousin sledding on our trip to Utah last year. And I used a sketch #146 from Creative Scrappers.

Well it's been quite a while since I've actually put my scrapbook layouts into their scrapbook binders. I stayed home from church today with Katie and Emily since we are all still sick and I thought this would be a great project to get done today. So I'm going to go through them and make sure I've posted them all on here. Oh, and I want to see how many LO's I've gotten done so far this year. My goal is 150. Okay, I'm up to 21 so far, better pick up the pace!!

Another double page sketch is up at Let's Scrap. Here's this week's sketch and my take of it. Pictures are of Haley in '07. I loved that little bandana that went with her dress! Papers are My Minds Eye.

My Guy

I created this LO of some pics I took of Tyler while we were on a camping trip a couple of years ago (okay, 5 years ago to be exact!). I was kinda playing with the light and I love the different expressions I got from him, typical Tyler faces! I took on the challenge at The Paper Variety to use 50% green on my LO. I've got green patterned paper, a green title, green journaling, and a green ribbon. I also used a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays. Papers are Scrap Within Reach's Georgia Rain collection.

Family

There's a new double page sketch up over at Let's Scrap. Here's the sketch and my take on it. It's the kids playing over Christmas break (2009). Papers are Crate's Restoration line. I also used the left side for last week's throwdown challenge at Memorable Seasons. The challenge was to layer at least 5 patterned papers, use one picture, have a cluster of embellies and use a non-scrapbooking item (I used 2 sewing pins to attach my journaling).

Snowballs

I did this LO of the kids making snowballs and gathering them in their wagon. The challenge was for DT challenge at Let's Scrap. There were a bunch of different techniques and items you were to use. I used textured cardstock, mesh, metal, fabric, a button, paint, a sketch, and to make your own embellishment. Quite a list but I got it done!! I also combined it with the challenge at The Paper Variety to sew on your LO. I sewed that cute red fabric onto my LO, a row on the top and a row on the bottom.

Good Times

My take on this week's sketch over at Let's Scrap. Pictures are of the kids and their cousins at Lego Land. Papers are Echo Park and Bella Blvd.

We Love Fire Engines

I did this one last week during the 1 hour sketch contest over at Memorable Seasons. You were given a sketch and had 1 hour to complete it. It was kinda stressful with a time limit but fun and motivating at the same time and I love how it turned out. The pictures are of the kids and their cousins before the Lehi parade started. They loved checking out the fire engines.

Cold Play

I did this one from a sketch at the Paper Variety. It was actually a card sketch but I used it for a LO instead! I also combined it with the scrapbook throwdown challenge over at Memorable Seasons. The challenge was to use only patterned paper, some bling, and stitching-got all 3. Pics are of Haley playing in the snow.

Valentine's Banner

A couple of my friends and I got together last week to make these Valentine banners. They were super easy to make and fun to make them together!! We each had different fabric but followed the same pattern so it was cool to see how each one turned out. We got the idea from the Moda Bake Shop. I still may add some fabric yo-yos and buttons to the top later on but at least it's up for now!! Growing up, my sisters and I would make a birthday banner, just with paper and markers, and hang it up on the wall so I think it would be super fun to make a birthday banner using this pattern.

Oh, and my Valentine layout was spotlighted over at The Paper Variety, go check it out!!

Imagination

I used sketch #104 from The Scrappiest for this LO and it's also for this week's Scrapbook Throwdown challenge over at Memorable Seasons. The throwdown recipe is to create a LO with clean lines, centered and balanced, 3 matted pictures in a row, lots of inked edges, and a punched border.

Valentine

I got this one done today using sketch #103 from The Scrappiest. I also found a new challenge blog so I played along for the Yummy Hearts challenge over at The Paper Variety. These are some pics of Haley after a valentine's playgroup party that was at our house (in 2007!!)

First reveal

I had my first DT reveal over at Let's Scrap. This is the sketch for this week and there's a great prize by Lucky Girl Crafts. I did the left side of the sketch and my page is Beautiful Girl that I posted last week. Just scroll down a bit and you can take a peek!

Joy

I did this fun sketch from the Page Maps blog. I loved it because I went straight to my scrap box to use the background papers. Pictures are of Tyler at one of our favorite summer spots in Wenatchee, Confluence Park!
