Navy...or not?

I picked out these fabrics to start a Swoon quilt.  It's something I've been wanting to make for a while now.  Here's what I've got so far.  They are mostly happy-go-lucky with some marmalade too.  The pattern calls for 18 fat quarters and I have enough here in this pile:

But... do you think I should add some blue to it???  These blues are from the happy-go-lucky line too.  Help me decide because I've having a hard time making a choice:(

Also, it's the beginning of a new month so I'm setting my August goal.  I am hoping to finish up the quilting and binding of Emily's quilt and I want to do at least 1 swoon block.  Linking up my goal to A Lovely Year of Finishes:

  1. I think I would definitely put the navy, which will give you some nice contrast! Beautiful fabric selection. I can't wait to see how your August goal turns out!

  2. I would do it too. I just used navy in a quilt for the first time (haven't taken photos yet) and I loved it! It popped against that same color coral you've got. (I even used a floral from Marmalade.) I like how darks mixed with sweet light florals can anchor a design, and help pull the eye across the quilt, without destroying the softness that a floral brings.

  5. Yes! Brilliant! It is like I could see navy at the top of the pile before I even read your post. It just goes! Looking forward to seeing your swoon block!

  6. Navy! I love the one with the red and grey flowers. I think it will add some wonderful depth to your blocks.
